Peace Be Still.

Peace Be Still

Jesus Christ said, “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”
John 16:33 NKJV

Jesus knew about today and He had you and I in mind when He spoke those words.

In today’s world, we have trouble. It’s a given. But in the midst of the trouble and insecurity, everyone of us should do all it takes to let the peace of Christ rule in our hearts. It may be very difficult, especially, with gunshots and the intimidating presence of the Nigerian military all around us. But those who take the words of Jesus seriously will have individual peace because Jesus said it clearly, “be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”
John 16:33 NKJV.

That’s the celebration of Easter. Jesus overcame for you and for me.

Therefore, let’s take whatever is within us to have peace in our hearts. Your worries may come but tell yourself that your worries would make things more difficult. Just imagine increasing your blood pressure when you can’t even go to buy any medicine. Instead of the worry that makes things worse, I’d boil moringa leaves and drink as tea to lower my blood pressure.

Why worry, when you can pray is a great song. I won’t be a doubting Thomas. Some people have joined me in praying and believing God for 90 days of peace that would usher in permanent peace as we used to know it!

God is answering even though it may seem in appearance that things are getting worse. No. Wait and see the salvation of the Lord. It was at the banks of the Read Sea that Moses said, “The Egyptian you see today, you will not see them again forever.” (And Moses said to the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever. The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.”
Exodus 14:13‭-‬14 NKJV). Practical efforts in addition to prayers are being made.

In the Book of the Palms, David described a worst case when the very earth you put your feet on is removed… Yet, there’s a River whose streams make glad the city of God! That’s a sure guarantee of peace within. “God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, Even though the earth be removed, And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though its waters roar and be troubled, Though the mountains shake with its swelling. Selah There is a river whose streams shall make glad the city of God, The holy place of the tabernacle of the Most High. God is in the midst of her, she shall not be moved; God shall help her, just at the break of dawn.”
Psalms 46:1‭-‬5 NKJV

This is called the peace of God that surpasses all understanding! That peace that doesn’t make sense in the presence of extreme dangers.
